What changed in US import rules
The expensive mistakes in cross-border selling are not arithmetic, they are stale rules. Every change below has a publication date and a document number, newest first. For the stack as it stands today, see landed cost.

Method and scope
Source. Federal Register API, queried daily for the phrases: section 301, section 232, de minimis exemption, harmonized tariff schedule. Window: 120 days from 2026-05-19.
Kept. Documents from Executive Office of the President, Homeland Security Department, Trade Representative, Office of United States, Treasury Department, U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Out of scope. Case-specific trade-remedy paperwork is deliberately excluded: Commerce/ITA antidumping and countervailing notices, International Trade Commission investigation and scheduling notices, and Foreign-Trade Zones Board notices. They run to dozens a week and bind one product in one case; this radar is for the rules that apply across shipments. Check the ITC and ITA dockets directly if your product is under a case.
No interpretation. Titles and abstracts are the Federal Register's own words, trimmed but never rewritten. A match means the phrase appears in the document, not that the document affects your shipment.

FAQ
Where can I see every US import rule change with its date?
The Federal Register publishes all of them, and this page lists the ones matching import-duty phrases in the last 120 days, newest first, each with its publication date, document number and a link to the official document. Case-specific antidumping, ITC and Foreign-Trade Zone paperwork is excluded on purpose, because it runs to dozens a week and binds one product in one case rather than changing the rules that apply across shipments.
How do I know the import rule I am about to quote is still current?
Check the date on it. Three widely repeated figures died in 2026: the $800 de minimis exemption was suspended indefinitely for every mode on 24 June 2026, the postal flat duty of $80 to $200 expired on 28 February 2026, and the IEEPA tariffs were struck down on 20 February 2026. Anything quoting them as current is older than those dates.
